In the lesson, we will talk about Team in the BI Triangle.

Firstly, your startup must have Mission, Vision, Philosophy. Why? Because you will attract suitable people to come and join. The normal people will find the normal companies, the talented people will the great companies. Great companies begin with their Mission, Vision, Philosophy. Read more about Mission, Vision, Philosophy in Lesson 1.
Second, a great team includes members from many backgrounds and experiences. Normally, Technical, Sale&Marketing, Fundraising is the three main positions in a startup.
Technical: Help to build the great product
Sale & Marketing: Introduce and sell the product to its users
Fundraising: Bring enough money, so that the Technical can build the product, Sale & Marketing have money to burn.
Finally, your team members must feel interested in building the product, working each day. Because everybody wants the challenges and to be a part of something big and meaningful.
Let’s talk about the Virtual English Testing Platform For Everybody Flyer.us Team as an example:
FLYER Founder Tung Tony is strong in sales and Marketing. He also likes to write blogs to share his experience. You can read Tung Blog here
And I have a little bit of experience in Fundraising.
So we need more cofounders in Technical Field. And FLYER is attracting Director-level members like Tech Director, Art Director by our meaningful product FLYER.us. Let’s me sharing about the story:
With Technical Director Phillip Bui – CEO InvestIdea.Tech (with 50 technical outsourcing staff), we know each other when I posted in Launch Group to find a tool solution in education. Phillip had a product solution and he inboxed me to discuss it. After that, Tung and I read the blog of Phillip and we really like his mindset. Not too many technical guys can have a global and clear mindset like that. We decided to meet Phillip directly and feel the high credibility with him. After weeks, we invited Philip to join FLYER, he accepted the offer. When Phillip joined FLYER, our technical process run more smoothly and professionally.
With Art Director Leo Dinh – CEO RedCat Motion (with 60 outsourcing 2D, 3D artists), we know Leo when he feedback to improve FLYER Product. One day later, Tung and I invited Leo to join FLYER as Art Director, he agreed after 30 seconds :)). Leo talked that “He loves our product, and wants to build the product follow FLYER’s Mission, Vision, Philosophy”. When Leo joined FLYER, he helped us invite other talented Artists like Vũ, Leu, Product Owner Ngoc Le. Lastly, Leo also likes to write a blog, you can read a lot of information here. The new image below is created by Leo and his artist team, it looks amazing.

You can see all the key members come to FLYER, because they like what we are doing, not because of money because they have enough money in their previous businesses. If you come because of money, you will leave because of money. Our key members come to FLYER because of our vision, mission, philosophy, and they still stay until FLYER keeps to following that.
We finish lesson 2 here. I hope you can learn that you can attract talented people by showing them how the startup is the best place for them. Writing a blog is one of the ways. See you in the next lesson.
