In the lesson, we will talk about Communications in the BI Triangle.

What is Communications?
Communication is the process of giving, receiving, and sharing information among the members of a startup.
A startup can run smoothly because it has effective communication. When the staffs communicate with each other to solve a problem in 1 hour, is it better than 12 hours? The answer is YES because the startup must test many ways to have PMF (product-market fit), to support new users when they meet bugs, to motivate employees when they down mood.
The 4 steps for effective communication:
1. Know where to communicate: Communications happen in different forms: emails, face-to-face, video calls, workplace platforms. Which is the best way for your startup to communicate? At Flyer.us, we choose to communicate in Slack. All chat, video calls, documents, recap meetings, work are done on Slack. Internal communication is 3-4 times better than the old workplace Telegram.

2. Build your collaboration skills: this can happen when your team is honest and support each other. No one is perfect, and when someone makes mistake, the whole startup must feedback to him immediately, and help him to fix it. At Flyer.us we feedback very fast via Slack or Face-to-face when we can.
3. Stick to Data, not ‘assumption’: Ineffective communication happens when everybody doesn’t have the right data, and they discuss based on the assumption. At FLYER.us, our meeting, discussion, opinion, brain-storm are based on Realtime Data. We do the A/B Testing and track each day, week, month to improve the work.

We finish lesson 4 here. See you in the next lesson.
