Last week, I had a meeting with Moaffak Ahmed, one of the famous angel investors in Finland

He is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and the LP (Limited Partner) at 10 Funds

Moaffak came back to Vietnam after 20 years. And he is finding the investment opportunities in the country.

i) From 2007-2015:

ii) From 2016 – 2020:

E-commerce (Tiki, Sendo, Lazada, Shopee)

Fintech (Momo, VNPay)

Edtech (Educa, Galaxy Educations)

Blockchain (Sky Mavis – Anxie Infinity, KyberNetwork)

AI (Vbee, Elsa)

2)What do you think about the Blockchain Industry in Vietnam?

The bubble from the end of 2022 until now, made a lot of blockchain startups closed

The real builders like Sky Mavis, KyberNetwork, and Coin98 still continue their work

And will grow in the next wave, which solves the problems of users

Blockchain Technology is necessary for Fintech Payment and Transaction E-commerce

3)What do you think about the AI Industry in Vietnam?

Before ChatGPT, AI wasn’t clear and not applicable to the real life

Now I use ChatGPT to collect ideas each day

Use MidJourney to create the AI Picture

Use VBee to turn text to speech (voice)

Use ID-D to make the AI Character speak the speech

I only need 1 guy (me) to do the work of 4 people

AI now is solving the real problem

It will grow explosive in the next period

4)What’s the best Local early stage VCs in Vietnam?

I like 2 local VCs

i)VIC Partners:

Invest from 50k – 250k USD

Invested the good startups like Coolmate, TopCV, Ladipage

Have a good network of high-profile angel investors in Vietnam

ii)Do Ventures: Invest from 500k – 3M USD

5) What are the best foreign early-stage VCs in Vietnam?

I like Nextrans, it is very active and supportive

Nextrans invested the good startups like Tiki, Thuocsi, Base, Ecomobi
